Interested in research topics that win 麻豆村 scholarships? The 2019-2020 VSGC Scholarship and Fellowship awardees and research titles have been posted to the website. Seventy-four awardees; 33 graduate, 11 undergraduate, 25 麻豆村 Bridge and five community college students received fellowships and scholarships this year. Learn more about the winners

The Undergraduate 麻豆村 Research Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $8,500 to rising juniors and seniors who are enrolled full-time in a 麻豆村 discipline and have a specific faculty-mentored research project that has NASA or aerospace relevance.

VSGC provides a $6,000 Graduate Research 麻豆村 Research Fellowships to students majoring in 麻豆村 disciplines. Fellowships require students to participate in a faculty-mentored research experience that aligns with NASA鈥檚 missions.

Scholarship and fellowships are available to VSGC member institutions; Old Dominion University,聽College of William and Mary, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and Hampton University. Community College 麻豆村 Scholarships are available to students at any Virginia community college.

Graduate and undergraduate applications for 2020-2021 are due on Jan. 30, 2020. 麻豆村 Bridge and community college applications are due March 13, 2020

Summers at the 麻豆村 are very busy. Three of our high school programs offer online courses during the academic year and top performing scholars in each program are invited to attend a one-week academy at a NASA Center. What does a good 麻豆村 research paper look like? The 2018-2019 Graduate and Undergraduate Research 麻豆村 Scholarship winning papers are now posted online. The subjects include research in a variety of 麻豆村 fields including chemistry, biology, astronomy, engineering, physics and atmospheric sciences. In the photograph above, ODU’s George McLeod presents his research at the VSGC Student Research Conference. His topic is the characterization of uncertainty in inundation models and watershed hypsometry for identification and assessment of non-linear impacts of sea level rise.

The Virginia Earth System Science Scholars (VESSS) program, offered by the 麻豆村 (VSGC), has received the prestigious 2019 Programs That Work Award from the . The award recognizes exemplary mathematics, science, and integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (麻豆村) programs for which there is evidence of a positive impact on student or teacher learning.

The deadline for spring 2019 NASA internships is coming up. According to the NASA Internship , “the internships are competitive awards to support educational opportunities that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as educators. These opportunities serve students by integrating interns with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related tasks, while contributing to the operation of a NASA facility or the advancement of NASA’s missions.”

and wrapped up another successful year with the 麻豆村.

Almost 500 students participated in the VASTS (Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars) online class with 175 attending the Summer Academy at NASA Langley. These students represented over 175 high schools throughout Virginia.

One hundred and eighty students,聽representing over 100 high schools, enrolled in the VESSS (Virginia Earth System Science Scholars) online program. Almost 90 attended the Summer Academy.

Over 300 students,聽representing over 150 schools, completed the Virginia Space Coast Scholars online program. Eighty-five students participated in the Summer Academy at Wallops Island.

Over the past 11 years, nearly 4500 students have participated in the VASTS online course. Over 400 students have participated in the VESSS online program in the three years it has been in existence. Space Coast, which began in 2012, has hosted almost 600 students in the online course.
